A Plea for Parapsychological Legitimacy

This is a post titled " A Plea for Parapsychological Legitimacy "
copied over from the vaporwave forum known as Agora Road:

Parapsychology is often split into two categories:
Extra-Sensory Perception (ESP) and Psychokinesis (PK).

This thread is for the study and interest in the field.
It should be a place devoted to the discussion of researchers, studies,
papers and institutions that have historically been devoted to the study of
Para-Psychological Phenomena.

I'd love to hear what you know about the topic, what you've heard and what you'd like to learn about it.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND:
I am most familiar with ESP, namely pre-cognition, but there are many other forms of perception thought to be "extra-sensory". I am currently looking to make a "family tree" of ESP researchers in the hopes that it will provide interesting data on hot-spots for this kind of research, and teach me a thing or two about funding research projects.
When I was about 13, I did the experiment laid out in J.W. Dunne's, "An Experiment with Time", and observed the existence of "photo-realistic" precognitive dreams firsthand. It wasn't until this past year that I learned of Dunne's book, or the term "pre-cognition", and now I have become aware of various relevant studies, and that there are terms for these kinds of things and institutions devoted to studying them. As a math student, I am most interested in the applications for these kinds of phenomena in the broader studies of math, physics, engineering and other natural sciences; it has already helped me better understand quantitative continuity, seeing that our consciousness is somewhat continuous and has various directions or velocities in the same way a numberline can....

I don't know much about psychokinesis, and I'm not really interested in it. I've also never taken psychedelic drugs, and wouldn't recommend it, though I do know that the Soviets would often use drugs to induce trance-like states in their research.

I learned about Dunne's book from Gaspar Noe's "Irreversible"(2002). I'm also very interested in Christopher Nolan's entire catalogue, and his treatment of time and consciousness therein.

OPINION:
Eric Wargo talks about quantum computing in the podcast I linked above, and from what he was saying, I think it makes the most sense that there's some mechanism in our brains that allows us to think precognitively, and that the "quantum entangling" happens within the particle across time and not between two particles across space... that's probably my biggest opinion about all of this, but I will be looking for more academic studies and a deeper understanding of the physics of it all.

DISCLAIMER: The reason I am putting this on General Discussion is two-fold (1) I believe this topic touches the edges of academic understanding and acheivement, hence it ought to be in everyone's vocabulary (2) there is a "para-normal"-interested and schizo population surrounding this entire topic, and I don't want this to be just another /x/-schizo echo chamber. I think much of the discourse and "science" surrounding this topic is laughable, and there is a reason it hasn't yet achieved much traction in Academia; all the more reason to approach the topic with sobriety and reverence.
